In the Canada-Registers of Chinese Immigration to Canada, batch [M3M8-XR3]

appears to be the sort of record indexed like example 3 in the project instructions. However, there is no column for the registration date as in the example, and only a date listed over the remark section as a column heading.

Since it is not clearly labeled, I am guessing that I leave the registration entry marked blank, but my question is: Should I use 1913 as the registration year, which is the year over the remark section?

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

    The instructions say:

    • If only a month and day were recorded for the arrival date, but a full date, including a year, was recorded for a registration date, you should index the registration year as the arrival year. If an arrival date was not recorded, do not assume the arrival year from the registration year.
    • Do not index any information from the "Remarks" column, including years, places, or names of individuals.

There doesn't seem to be any column that says "Date of Registration" or "Date of Issue of C.I. 36".

So, I think you have guessed correctly, and should mark the Registration Year Blank using Ctrl + B.
