Does anyone know how to standardize a marriage location when the couple was married on a ship by the ship's captain?

@JeanMcGonigleFarnsworth I believe the standard is At sea, I have seen that when people add burials. You would put all the details in the marriage entry location then standardize to At Sea.

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    Just in passing ...

Further to; and, in support of, what 'Cindy' has already proffered ...

'Yes', the "Standard", of "At Sea", can be used.

    Furthermore ...

    As an aside ...

    [ 1 ]

MANY Oceans/Seas/etc, have a "Standard"; where, the 'Place", HAS a "Standard"; and, can be used.

    Examples:

    and ...

Unfortunately, some DO NOT, have a "Standard"; but, a "Standard", CAN be "Requested".

The Recorded 'Place", is NOT, LIMITED, to just "At Sea" (or, an Ocean/Sea/etc)

You can record a 'Place', yet, STILL "Standardise", that 'Paces'; as, "At Sea".

    Example:

    The possibilities, are endless ...

    Good Luck.

    Just my thoughts.

I hope, that this may also help/assist.
