Account change from public member to an LDS member account
Does this change in account status affect the living records created by the public account when you change your account to an account of an LDS member? In the past the living records created before the change in the account would no longer be viewable after the change in the account. Does it still work that way?

Changing your account type (Public to Member) does not change what is in your Family Tree. Your tree should remain the same.

Good Questions ...
As far as I understood/aware ...
[ Previously ... ]
For both, NEW Members; and, those Member that "Created" a 'FamilySearch' Account WITHOUT adding their (Church) Membership Number ...
IF, a User/Patron, who was originally, not a member of the the Church, already had a "Public" Account; and, later became a Member of the Church; THEN, that User/Patron could ADD their newly acquired "Membership (Church) Number, to their EXISTING "Public" Account, CONVERTING such to a "Church" (Member) Account; and, MOST Importantly, DID NOT loose the existing "Living" individuals/persons, in the "Private Spaces" of their Existing; now, Converted, 'FamilySearch' Account.
Whereas ...
IF, a User/Patron, was a Member of the the Church; but, "Created" a 'FamilySearch' Account through 'FamilySearch'; and, NOT through the Church Website; plus, DID NOT include their (Church) Membership Number; thereby, creating a a "Public" Account; THEN, that was another matter entirely.
And, in the latter case, it was ALWAYS a matter, of Helping, the Member of the Church, getting that addressed/fixed, through 'FamilySearch' "Support"; and, ultimately, the "Global Service Centre".
As, trying, to ADD a (Church) Membership Number, the the "Public" Account of an EXISTING Member of the Church, was ALWAYS difficult; as, they had an EXITING 'FamilySearch' Account, associated with their "Church" Account (Especially, if their Church "Account" was active/activated).
IF, in the latter situation/circumstance, the Member had NEVER "Created" (and/or "Activated"), a "Church" Account; THEN, it was NOT so much a problem/issue.
But ...

WITH the RECENT separation of OUR, "Church"; and, 'FamilySearch', Accounts ...
Who knows ...
I just had a look through the following "Knowledge Articles" (and, "Related" Articles), in 'FamilySearch':

How do I add my Church record number to my account?

When I try to add my Church record number to my account, I get a message that my Church record number is already in use

I just found these OLD (and, thus, 'Dated') 'FamilySearch' "Blog" Articles, from back in 2014:

All That Said ...
Again ...
They are some "Very" GOOD 'Questions'.
That will be interesting to 'hear' the response.
[ As, different/separate 'FamilySearch' Accounts can NO LONGER be 'Merged'/'Combined' ... like they used to ]
Just my thoughts.

Brett - I really appreciate all you said in your reply but as you said at the end - we don't know. I am hoping by marking "No" to the question of it your replay answered the question we might get someone who is a missionary or employee who could definitively answer the question.
Simply stated: If I have a public member accout with a tree that has living people linking me to my dead ancestors - if I change to a LDS account with my Membership number - will I lose access to the living people that were linking my public member record to my dead ancestors?
