batch/0e868155-6e81-45e2-853f-e5f472bd2cd2

I am currently indexing US, Massachusetts—Boston Tax Records, 1822–1918 [Part L][M3K4-DDP]

  • I am trying to follow the project instructions..."Index all names except those listed in the "Owner" or "Remarks" columns, or names of companies or trusts. Often, names of owners appear on the right side of the image; these names should not be indexed. "
  • So, since "Joseph Thomas" refers to an Estate, he should not be indexed?
  • Further down it refers to a city fuel company and lists the president (Wallace B Phinney) and treasurer by name (William Rand). Should they be indexed...just not the name of the company?

Thanks, Rosalyn

    Hi Rosalyn,

I looked at your batch, the examples, and the instructions. This batch does not fit in neatly. I would agree with your interpretation of the instructions. I am no expert on this so hopefully someone else will give their opinion.

Joseph Thomas should not be indexed as he is the owner.

I would index the other two names, Phinney and Rand.
