Is there a way to move and entire Album under Memories to a disc or thumbdrive?

I have processed several hundred photos in Memories so that they have a Title, caption, date and are stored in the correct albums under Memories. Now that all that work is done, is there a way to send these complete albums of pictures, documents and audio to others (ie, my kids, friends, relatives, etc.) It would be a shame to just be able to share the photos, and not have the titles, captions, dates etc be associated with those pictures and documents.

Does anybody know how to do this?

Hello, You would need to download each memory manually. But you would not be able to download the dates and details.

You could share the link to each page, or encourage them to join Family Search so they can view each memory themselves!

Here is a link I think you might find useful.

    I do hope this helps.

Yeh I have asked some the FS admins that work with memories this same question some time back.

Neither then nor now do I believe there is any option in FS to do that.

with a few hundred you can just put your nose to the grindstone and download the files one by one.

BUT if you have many thousands . . ..

It is always a good idea as you upload your items to organize them into folders (on your LOCAL PC) and with appropriate file names so that you have your own local copy as you go . . .

In theory you could include the description in the file name - and even things like PID.

But yeh I wish there is a better way of downloading a backup copy of what one has submitted to FS Memories.

On the other hand - in theory some "third party" software could have this capability.

It will be interesting to see if other FS users have used third party tools to automatically or semiautomatically download FS memories items.

If you need more help you could try this link.

How do I download the memories (photos, stories, documents, and audio files) about my ancestors?

FamilySearch provides an easy way for you to download memory items. This includes photos, documents, stories, and audio files.

    Hope this helps. Maureen
