"Iowa, County Births, 1880-1935," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:V46F-XFY : 31 March 2020), Floyd A Bowen in entry for Charlotte Jean Bowen, 27 Sep 1921; citing Center Township, Jefferson, Iowa, United States; county district courts, Iowa; FHL microfilm 1,750,237.

Floyd A Bowen is supposed to be Floyd A Bower in entry for Charlotte Jean Bowen which should be Charlotte Jean Bower.

The images are not available for this index, so it is not correctable.

However, the index served its purpose: you found the record. When you attach it as a source, you can make a note about the misreading in the index.

Keep in mind that an index is not the data. It is merely a finding aid for the data.

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    Just in passing ...

    Short Answer: That depends ...

Please be, aware; and, advised, that ...

NOT all "Sources" can be "Edited" (ie. "Corrected").

Here are some "Knowledge Articles", in 'FamilySearch':

Why can't I fix indexing or transcription errors?

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/why-cant-i-fix-indexing-or-transcription-errors

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/why-cant-i-fix-indexing-or-transcription-errors

How do I correct indexing errors in historical records?

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-fix-indexing-or-transcription-errors-in-historical-records

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-fix-indexing-or-transcription-errors-in-historical-records

IF, you are cannot, "Edit" (ie. "Correct") a "Source"; THEN, ...

One thing, that you can do, is to make a "Note" of ANY such "Discrepancy" in the "Title" of the "Source"; and/or, maybe, include such in the "Reason", that the "Source" is attached.

    Just my thoughts.

I know, that this certainly may not help/assist; but, I hope, that this may provide you with, some additional, insight; and, perspective; and, another avenue to pursue.

I use two systems for research. I work in both FamilySearch and Ancestry. Here is why.

The image of this birth record is fully available in Ancestry; attached is the image. The collection holder may not have given permission to FS, for whatever reason. URL at the bottom. And as you can see, it really does look like "n" and not an "r".
