"Certificate Number" is wrong on all indexed records for a certain image
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:939X-7M9F-BW
The indexer appears to have used the page number (97; actully the right side is 97 folio, and the left side is 96 verso) instead of the entry number (range 703 through 710) as the "certificate number" for all records in this image. But "Certificate Number" is not a field I can change when I click the "Edit" button.

We are going to move this to the support group best able to address your concern.

The important thing is that you found the record.
Keep in mind that the index is not the data. It is merely a finding aid for the data, and it has manifestly served that purpose.

So it's true that I myself found the record (just one of the eight items in that image), and used it to support or refute data in the Tree. When I'm writing a citation for it, I'll be careful to specify, for example, "Christening record of José Pedro, son of Nicolás Suares and Manuela Contreras, entry 706, page 96v, image 121 of 533...". And that field doesn't seem to be searchable, or used or usable for sorting entries in the image index.
But I'm concerned that post-indexing quality control didn't catch this. It should have been easy to check that all the certificate-numbers are in incrementing unbroken sequence in the images, except where explained by unreadable pages, a new volume on the same film, etc.
For another case where the same quality-control might have caught a different problem, consider

Image 251 (pages 18v-19f) has certificates numbered 727 -730. Image 252 is a duplicate of 251. Image 253 has certficates numbered 731-733, but only 732 and 733 have been indexed. Certificate 731, civil birth registration of Ismael Eduardo Millán, born 31 July 1929, is clearly there starting in the middle of page 19v (so starting at the bottom left of the image, continuing to the top right). But there's no way for him to be found now, except by browsing through all images, and no way for me to report the problem except by posting in the "Suggest an Idea" forum.
