Regarding US, New York, Capital—Index to Land Records, Grantees, 1630–1975 [Part A][MSYF-7PV], entry number 39; The Surname is listed as "Philo & Wing." Second occurrence like this so far on this page. I'm indexing it exactly as written, is this correct? Or would I enter a second entry for this line using only "Philo" on the first entry and "Wing" on the second entry?

Thanks,

Cheryl

That would also be my take on those transactions that have a name off to the side (e.g. & Higbie, & Wing, & Comstock, & Smith).

Ah, or looking at entry 70, one entry for this line for Grantee Jane A Phillips, and a second entry for this line for Grantee [B] Comstock?

    I would create two indexes:

    • If multiple grantees or grantors were listed for a single transaction, index information about each one using separate entries in the data entry area.

So I’m assuming when the surname is Phillips and then someone else has written in “& Wing” Wing would be the surname of a second person. The given name would be blank and the surname Wing… correct?
