Make Date Fields in Indexing the Same

It would be nice if the date fields in indexing projects were always in the same order. Some project have day, month, year others have month, day, year.

    @paulgentry1

    This is just another example of inconsistencies that occur between project instructions and documentation relating to different indexing projects. Some, like the one you illustrate, confuse the indexers. Other instructions affect the viewing of the indexed records once they appear online.

    Unfortunately, nobody who oversees the (indexing) system ever seems to visit this forum, so really constructive ideas and comments are not being read.

    @paulgentry1 , This date input issue drives me nuts too! I think I would prefer to have the format of Day Month Year always, no matter the date order listed in the record.

    In Form Entry mode (only) you can rearrange the field order, including the date fields, to suit your preferences. You do this by hovering over the field name until a little cross appears, and then you drag and drop it to where you prefer. Click on the three dots menu in the upper right of the entry form and choose “Reset field order” to restore the “factory defaults.”

    @John Empoliti , do those settings stick for the next batch?

    Yes, they should for more batches from that project. However, if you clear cache and cookies on your browser, which you should do from time to time, you might need to re-impose your preferred order. That customized field order is probably stored in a cookie.
