Appears half the document is missing...

I'm indexing military rosters. Today I notice that half the page is cut off on a lot of the batches I'm doing. I don't know if this is intentional or if the scanner did not work correctly and the documents are missing half the rosters. Example:

United States—Enlisted and Officer Muster Rolls and Rosters, 1916–1939 [Part N][M3JF-C5C].

Please let me know. I would hate to see a large population of names missed due to a technical issue on your end.

Thank you.

    Hello WattsGuyGene1

Unfortunately, we cannot know what the original records looked like when they were photographed. They may have been cut off before they were photographed, we do not know but there is nothing that can be done at this point. Hopefully the cut off sections of these rosters is included in this or another project.

To add, the only thing that we can do is to index what is found on the image, and hope that the missing half of the roster is found on another image in this collection.

    Hope this answers your question.

Usually you will find the rest of the image on the reference images. You don't index from the reference images, but, you will at least know that another indexer is going to index the "missing link".

To access reference images, click on the bottom icon on the vertical toolbar on the image box.
