Black screen
I am a former Stake Indexing Director and long time indexer, but today I am having a new problem. When I down load a batch (or several) everything seems normal until I open the batch. Everything comes up normally except that the screen where the image is to appear is totally black. I have waited, but it remains black. I restarted the program and got the same result, I tried down-loading batches from a different project and got the same result. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? I was successfully downloading and processing indexing batches and review batches earlier today with no problem. HELP!

Question: Have you tired the same with DIFFERENT "Browsers"?
To 'see' if the results are the same ...

IF, you have not already ...
Here is, an "Oldie"; but, STILL, often, a "Goodie" ...
Try "Clearing", the "Cookies"; and, the "Cache", of your "Browser" that you are using.
That often does the trick, will all sort of problems/issue ...
It may NOT; but, sometimes does ...
Good Luck.
Just some quick thoughts.

I think Brett (thanks for the tag) is onto the problem. Your browser probably needs "housekeeping" - clearing cache and cookies. There is perhaps not enough free space for it to manage the images properly - it suddenly reached the "tipping point." A telling sign is if you try a different browser and do not have the problem. If you want to skip that step, click on the link below to learn how to clear cache and cookies on your current browser. I hope it works for you:

The only browser I have is Mozilla Firefox. And I have no idea how to clear out cache and cookies. Any help with that?

Hi Don
here is a link to Mozilla support on this - giving some alternatives in the table of contents from clearing less data to more
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/clear-cookies-and-site-data-firefox
i would choose the option to “Clear all cookies, site data and cache.” You’ll then get instructions on how to do that. Good luck. Come back if you need more help.
Table of Contents
- Clear cookies for the current website
- Clear cookies for any website
- Clear all cookies, site data and cache
- Clear all cookies and keep other data
