What method of transcription is used in some Missouri marriage records where the names and numbers are written perfectly? I have indexed several of these records and am curious if anyone knows. I just finished M9LG-MBN for example.

    Likely the Palmer Method. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palmer_Method

My mother had excellent penmanship and took pride in it; she even won awards in school. Now we don't even teach it. I remember the charts above the blackboard as a grammar schooler. Somehow Mr. Palmer's methods didn't resonate with me. I have handwriting more like my father's.
