what to do when only one full image is available but indexing asks for 2 entries
Hi, I'm new to this. I'm indexing Italian Records. The indexing tool is asking for 2 entries for each image. As can be seen in the above image (Image 1), there is incomplete info on the left page (father's name) whereas on the right page, there is the usual birth info (Mother/father names/ baby name/dates). So if I follow the instructions for entry one, I can only put the father's name, whereas for the page on the right, for entry 2, I can put all the needed index info.
What do I put on Entry 1 to notify the reviewer the info is on the previous page-I don't know how to turn the page back. For entry 1, do I just put none? I assume I would then repeat this same process for all the subsequent images of course
Thanks

Glad to hear that was helpful! I think the video should win a FamilySearch award for video of the year! It should be a "must see" for all new indexers as it is very helpful.
Happy Indexing and keep coming back when you have more questions, Dave.

You should always share the batch so others can read the instructions as well as see what you are seeing. The instructions may have a section on what to remember about this project where you will see what to do for combination images or for a record that spans two images. Under the General Indexing Guidelines you should also see links to these two topics.
To share the batch, either provide the URL or the batch code which is the series of numbers/letters in brackets after the title. [XXXX-XXX]
Since you are new to indexing, I always like to recommend an excellent video with indexing instructions. The actual lesson begins about the 8 minute mark. Indexing Discussion (Jason Pierson Live)

Hi Melissa,
Thank you for the information and your patience.
I found the project instructions (I was looking in the wrong place for project instructions!). I think I have my answer between the video and the instructions now. I think I can enter (more) correctly now. I thought if the computer said 2 entries, I had to put something for both entries. I didn’t realize it was a default and I could change to “1” entry for that particular image. Then for subsequent images, 2 was correct as the number of entries. Whew.
thanks again.
Dave
