regarding the Austria, Vienna Population Cards, 1850-1896

The citation for these records clearly states that there are images for these cards.

A few months ago, I was able to view the images. I found my grandfather and his brother listed for 1911 and 1912. There are i.d. numbers attached to the images.

However, in late November 2021 to today, the images are not available. What happened to the images?

Also, there are transcriptions for each person's card. The transcriptions are not complete. They do not cite the dates that are noted on each card. My grandfather's card had his signature on both the incoming population and the outgoing population cards from April 1912 and May 1912. Will these images be available again soon? If not may I request a printed/pdf/or other format image to be sent to me?

Ferenz or Franz Bognar dated April 1912 and May 1912

and

Marton or Martin Bognar dated 1911 and May 1912

Answering as a FamilySearch Community member not a FamilySearch Representative.

Short answer: Yes - you are right - something appears to have happened to these images - hopefully they can be available sometime soon. I recommend you join the Austro-Hungarian Empire group (https://community.familysearch.org/en/group/13-austro-hungarian-empire - the closest group I could find) and they may be able to direct you to these archival records better. It appears the DFN/DGS numbers or waypoints have been messed up for the collection - thus the images are also having problems? https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Austria,_Vienna_Population_Cards_-_FamilySearch_Historical_Records

It looks like the following archive is mentioned in the citation - perhaps contacting them directly?

    https://www.archivesportaleurope.net/directory;jsessionid=EB76C8951FBD9D7503D5B4CEDC2975C3

Longer answer: The 'How to use this collection' page allows you to 'browse all 185,801 images':

    https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/1404451

It appears once you have the "Film Number (Digital Folder Number)" you can narrow down your search of the images.

    49 results for Franz 1912: https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results?f.collectionId=1404451&q.givenName=Franz&q.residenceDate.from=1912&q.residenceDate.to=1912&q.surname=Bognar

    7 Results for Martin 1911/12: https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results?count=20&q.givenName=Martin&q.residenceDate.from=1911&q.residenceDate.to=1912&q.surname=Bognar&f.collectionId=1404451

The record you attached for Marton:

    Document Information

    Digital Folder Number

    004671767

    Image Number

    00569

I tried using that Folder Number to locate an image in Search> Records and Search> Images - neither appears to be helpful. Which brings up the question - related to your query - why don't the waypoints (https://www.familysearch.org/search/image/index?owc=https://www.familysearch.org/service/cds/recapi/collections/1404451/waypoints ) include this Folder Number? Anyway the waypoints that are displayed indicate:

    "Image Unavailable

This image is unavailable for online viewing at this time."

I wish there were better notes for what/when images are available.

I just want to know why the images are no longer available, when they were a few months ago? And, are they going to be available sometime in the near future?
