Submission ID on my GEDCOM

My question. I uploaded a GEDCOM. The submission ID is different than my ID that's attached to my account. When you run the submission ID it comes back to someone not affiliated with my account OR anyone in my database/GEDCOM. I uploaded my GEDCOM through the Genealogies section, scrolling down at the bottom and uploading. I'm not referring to the Family Tree portion just the 'Genealogies section' under Search/Genealogies.

Does anyone have an idea why the submission ID is different than the person (me) who uploaded the GEDCOM?

Many thanks,

R. Trent Briles

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    Just in passing ...

    As afar as I a aware ...

A "SubmissionID", for a GEDCOM File, "Uploaded", in the "Genealogies" Part, of 'FamilySearch', has NO bearing on (and, is NOT the the same as) the 'FamilySearch Person Identifier' (PID) of the User/Patron, who uploaded the GEDCOM File.

    Likewise ...

The "Identifier" associated with individuals/persons, "Uploaded", from GEDCOM Files, into the "Genealogies" Part, of 'FamilySearch', have NO bearing on (and, is NOT the the same as) the 'FamilySearch Person Identifier' (PID) of the User/Patron, who uploaded the GEDCOM File.

"Living" individuals/persons, in GEDCOME Files, are NOT uploaded, into ANY part, of 'FamilySearch'.

    Just my thoughts.

I hope, that this may help/assist, somewhat.

    FYI

    As an aside ...

We CANNOT either, "Edit", and/or, "Merge"/"Combine", GEDCOM Files, that have been uploaded, into the "Genealogies" Part, of 'FamilySearch' - even our own.

Those GEDCOM Files, that have been uploaded, into the "Genealogies" Part, of 'FamilySearch', are 'Static' - ie. "As Is" (when uploaded).

The ONLY option, that one has, is to "Delete"/"Remove", a GEDCOM File, that have been uploaded, into the "Genealogies" Part, of 'FamilySearch'; and, if one so desires, upload a NEW (updated/enhanced) version of the GEDCOM File.

    Again ...

A "SubmissionID", of a GEDCOM File, will NOT relate to the 'FamilySearch Person Identifier' (PID) of the User/Patron, who uploaded the GEDCOM File.

    And ...

Just to be sure - are you certain that is YOUR upload? I've found that others, by copying from my work on another site, have uploaded a copy of my GEDCOM to the PRF.

Yes this is mine GEDCOM....this "mystery person" is not in my database, not a source or creator of the GEDCOM. I created this database from scratch and it has no "additional GEDCOM" has been added or merged with mine.

I believe my question has been answered by the Sisters at FS and Brett is correct. Many thanks!
