How do I find out more information about my grandmother, who was born out of wedlock. I think I know her father, but not her mother. She was adopted by a family in Minnesota. She was born in 1891 in Minnesota.

The Research Wiki is a good place to start. From the FamilySearch website, choose Search and then Research Wiki from the drop-down menu. If you type Minnesota in the Search field and then choose Vital Records, you will find links to Online Minnesota Birth, Marriage and Death Records. You will also have access to Church, Newspapers, Minnesota Emigration and Immigration records. The Wiki can guide you to an endless amount of research possibilities.

You can find articles in the Help Center with tips for your research. Here is a link to one of those articles: https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/when-i-am-searching-historical-records-what-are-the-best-practices-and-tips

The Family History Library offers a Free Research Consultation that might be helpful as well. Here is a link for that: https://go.oncehub.com/ResearchStrategySession

We believe this is a good place to start and hope you have success finding records about your grandmother.
