This project is an index. The names have been shortened, for example: Hastings, Winnif . I suspect her first name is Winnifred, but it does not actually say that. Another example: Reb and in small letters, ka. Again, I assume that it is Rebecca. I feel that I need to index it exactly as I see it, and I shouldn't make a guess. Please advise. Thank yo

@PattCindyLee1 Hi. If you would share your batch code, the long number at the top of the batch, together we can help you with your question.

Thank you for indexing and giving your time. It is much appreciated.

Hi, You are absolutely right to index names exactly as you see them and not make assumptions. In the case of names, do not expand abbreviations such as Wm, Saml or Rebka. Also, please review the Project Instructions a 2nd time - it took me 3 times reading to catch all the "small" details that make Missouri---County Marriages so unique and fun to both index & review. You'll want to double-check to see that the Reference Number is correctly indexed in terms of priority for indexes - they're different from Marriage Licenses.

Have a Happy New Year, Mary 😎
