Does a Mortgage Record Count as a Land Deed Record?

Hi,

I am working on a record from a "US, Illinois, Monroe County—Deed Records, 1816–1900" batch. The project instructions say to "Index all land registers and records with names of grantors, grantees, or other names." The image I'm currently on has a record of someone selling someone else a pony, followed by a mortgage record. All images in this batch are handwritten and were not filled in on any kind of form. Should this image still be indexed for the mortgage record? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Sarah
