Pre-populated relationship info on records search

Please allow an option when searching for a family search records to have it pre-populated with all relationship information about the individual, just like ancestry.com does by default. Currently, family search does not do that, and relationship information has to be entered in manually one person at a time. However, there are times when the user would not want all the information for relationships on there, so perhaps having pre-populated as the default and the ability to pare down the record search results to not have relationship information (with a single checkbox) would be great.

Are you talking about the "Search Records - FamilySearch" option in the right-hand column of a person's detail page?

There are almost no historical records in existence that name all of a person's relatives, so populating the search fields with all of those people will inevitably give no results. The only way such a search could have any results is if the algorithm selectively ignores one's inputs, which is emphatically NOT a good thing, in my opinion. (It's the reason I dislike both Ancestry's search and the new interface on FS. I do not like being ignored.)

If you are expecting a response from a FamilySearch employee you will probably have a long wait. In this "Community" forum it left to forum moderators (usually volunteers) and everyday FamilySearch users to answer all the queries. However, we are advised employees do visit here and make a note of users' comments and requests.

I see what you are saying - prepopulate everything so I can remove what I don't want to search.

This is inverted from the current process of requiring the researcher to input the persons/relations. So you'd probably get half the researchers not liking that inverted approach. Instead - since currently the header does contain the relationships that are in the Tree - you can copy/paste those - but yes it requires individual 'Add Family Member' entry.

I think it makes more sense to keep the current process - allow the researcher to enter the relations they may be searching for?
