I tried to resume work on a batch, and now I get "You are not authorized to open this batch"
This was a batch I have been working on for some time. For some reason, I am suddenly not "authorized" to keep working on it. Could this be because I did such a poor job of it before? Shouldn't they tell me what I was doing poorly and how I could improve? The way this message appeared seems like a slap in the face.

Hi Randy. I am sure it is not because of a "poor job" that you did on the batch. If you still have the batch number, the long number at the top of the batch, you can share that with us and once we look at it we can help you with it. I am willing to say that you got that message because that batch expired.
Please keep indexing so that others will be able to find their ancestors. We appreciate you and someone is here to help if you encounter a problem. Happy New Year!!!!

Hi Randy. I agree with Marian. It’s very likely that your batch expired. The “Due Date” to the right of a batch is Midnight UTC (GMT). on that date. For me, in Texas and observing CST, that is 6 hours ahead of us, meaning that my batches will expire at 6:00 pm CST of the due date - already midnight in Greenwich, England - and not my (CST) midnight, as one might expect.
BTW - your work was not lost - another Indexer will pick up where you left off. We’ve asked for warnings when batches are close to expiration, but for now you just need to stay on top of the time difference to avoid getting that message.

I agree with @John Empoliti its most likely an expired batch. I didnt realize this at first and had this happen to me with a few different batches that were long and I couldnt finish in time. Please dont feel like it is a slap in the face, its nothing like that at all. You've done nothing wrong :)

Thank you all for your encouraging support. I felt pretty demoralized about that. I feel better about it now, and am ready to pick up my fallen feelings and carry on again!
