Hello, my name is Scott Harris and I posted a message back in February about not being able to find information on my ancestor - Henry Harris who was married to Amy Hardee (Harris). I have been at a standstill for so long that I cannot see any way of moving further from here. Thank you so very much. My email address is:

My original post: After years of research, I am unable to determine the name of the father of William “Henry” Harris, Sr. Born: 07 December 1818 Kingston County, South Carolina - was changed to Horry County in 1801. He died in Bayboro Township (Horry County, SC) on 01 March 1901. His actual birthplace was Conway, South Carolina, Bayboro, South Carolina, or Loris, South Carolina. There are numerous family trees online that indicate his father was Henry Gustavus Harris - but that cannot be possible. Henry Gustavus Harris (York County, SC) was never married to Amy Hardee (mother of William Henry Harris, Sr., and the Will of Henry Gustavus Harris lists his wife (Patricia "Patience" Harriet Shurling) and children, with a child (completely different name) born the same year as William Henry Harris, Sr. I keep getting "hints" of information leading to northern North Carolina as a likely place where his family may have lived at some point. The mother of William Henry Harris, Sr. (Amy Hardee Harris) is also a great mystery. She is mentioned one time in a federal census when she is a child living with her family in Pitt, North Carolina. She was born on 16 August 1780. She entered eternal life in 1850 in Horry County, South Carolina (was living with her son - William Henry Harris, Sr.), but there is no record of her death, burial location, or any information at all.
