I tried to submit the batch. It was not accepted. It said a birth year is required. The document did not have a birth year on it.

Chances are good that the birth year is a required field. This is identified with an asterisk beside the Field Titles (Birth Year *).

When you don't have a birth year on the record and it is a required field, you have to mark the field <blank> using the keyboard command Ctrl + B. Or by clicking on the FIRST x icon in the toolbar.

Check your field helps for more instructions like this when you index. They are accessed by clicking on the purple question mark that appears when you click on a field.

Another reason new indexers can't submit batches is because there are a preset number of records in the batch. Once you index all the information on an image, if you have leftover entry forms you need to delete those. To do this click on the Trash Can icon, select "all blank entries", Click Delete.
