Hi Hazel the website is having a lot of changes to it and the work is mostly done in the early morning so please try again later on.

We are sorry that FamilySearch is not working properly for you.
It sounds like you have done some computer housecleaning. That is always a good practice.
Have you tried checking you pop up blockers?
Hope this helps.

A blank page usually is due to an internet connectivity problem somewhere between FamilySearch servers and your device. There is nothing either you or FamilySearch can do about it except wait.
If you are curious you can check your network connectivity using a ping. Just now I pinged www.familysearch.org and after letting it run briefly I got this report:
--- d3keuoug4413lc.cloudfront.net ping statistics ---
12 packets transmitted, 12 packets received, 0.0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 19.473/24.914/28.850/3.179 ms
I also pinged community.familysearch.org:
--- site-6032564.onvanilla.net ping statistics ---
9 packets transmitted, 9 packets received, 0.0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 34.944/38.226/46.533/3.510 ms
Both reports reflect normal connectivity: 0 packet loss and typical round-trip times. When there is a network problem many or all packets will be lost and those that go through may have much longer round-trip times.
On mobile devices there are ping apps. On desktops and laptops the general method is as described here: https://smallbusiness.chron.com/ping-remote-computer-55348.html

Sometimes outages are accidental or a result of severe weather events.

I am also having issues with the search function since December. I am able to get onto the site, but whenever I select the search function it returns a blank page and no results.
Pinging FamilySearch is no proof that the search function actually works, just proof that you can reach the main page, which I can do.
Rebooting and messing with cookies would have no effect as this is clearly a server-side issue.
Any help would be appreciated as this has been going on for days and it would be good if it could be resolved.
Thanks
