FYI
Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Just in passing ...
You are not alone ...
MANY; Many; many, of us, ... have been there ... done that ... still do ...
Many of us have had 'wayward' "Changes" made to our "Ancestral" Lines ...
And, when such does happen, it more often than not, "Changes" the "Relationship" between, oneself, and, an individual/person, in "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch'.
Now ...
That Said ...
Please be aware, that technically, you DO NOT have a "Tree", in "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch' ...
Please let me explain ...
Technically, there is no way to STOP another User/Patron working along the SAME 'Ancestral" Lines.
Unfortunately, such CANNOT be prevented.
As, basically, we are all related.
Your "Ancestral" Lines, are most likely ALSO another User's/Patron's "Ancestral" Lines, in fact, probably, that of quite a few other Users/Patrons.
Now ...
That Said ...
Basically, we DO NOT have, a "Tree", in "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', than is common misconception.
And, OTHER Users/Patrons, DO NOT need/require, our (ie. one's) "Permission", to "Change" the information/details of "Deceased" individuals/persons, in "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch'.
Here an old 'standby' of mine, that I have previously proffered on occasion ...
------------------
Most new (and, some old) Users/Patrons DO NOT understand the basic 'nature' and 'premise' of "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', when they join in.
Please let me explain ...
We do not have our OWN "Tree" in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
We ONLY have "Branches" (ie. Ancestral" lines), that are interconnected, in this SINGLE "One" World "Tree", for all of us, that is "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
"Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' is NOT like 'On-Line' "Websites" (eg. "Ancestry_com"; or "MyHeritage_com"; or, the like); and/or, 'standalone' personal (computer) programmes (eg, the OLD, now no longer supported, "PAF"; or, "Ancestral Quest"; or, the like).
We DO NOT have "Private"/"Personal" 'Trees' in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' like other 'On-Line' "Websites"; and/or, 'standalone' personal (computer) programmes.
We do not even, own; or, manage; and, are NOT even responsible for, the "Deceased" individuals/persons in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
And, most importantly ...
We DO NOT even, own; or, manage; and, are NOT even responsible for, Our OWN "Deceased" Ancestors/Family/Relatives in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
"Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' is built on a "Open Edit" Platform - hence, why any registered User/Patron can "Edit" (ie. Add, Delete; and/or, Change) ANY "Deceased" individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
I hope that this gives you some, insight; and, perspective.
------------------
In other words ... "Collaboration" ...
Of course ... often ... easier said, than done ...
[ Sometimes, no matter how hard one tries, "Collaboration", does not work ... such is life ... ]
Plus ...
We ALL make MISTAKES ...
NONE of US are PREFECT ...
None of us want to have our "Ancestral" Lines 'messed up'; but, unfortunately, it happens.
Just my thoughts.

Furthermore ...
All that one can really do, is 'Monitor', one's "Ancestral" Lines, for 'wayward' CHANGES, by OTHER Users/Patrons.
Nothing more, nothing less ...
As an aside ...
IF, you were not already aware; THEN, ...
In "Family Tree", of "FamilySearch' ...
We have the ability to "Watch" (Oops, sorry, 'old school', "Follow"), up to a MAXIMUM of x4000 individuals/persons, at any given time.
Basically ...
It is a matter, of "Following", one's MOST important Ancestors.
Just to keep on top, of any 'wayward' CHANGES.
I check, the "Changes" to those that I "Follow", on a "Daily" Basis; so that, I can keep on top of things.
More often that not, nothing needs to be done; but, at least, I have the opportunity, to be abreast of things; as, they happen/transpire/unfold.
Just my thoughts.

@MlaO'neal What I do when I encounter an ancestor who has faulty sources added or incorrect family, I go to the Changes, as @Brett . indicated, and I look up the exact user who made that change. Often I will contact them but because feelings get hurt and emotions can run high, I ALWAYS research where I think these sources / changes SHOULD be attached or made. To be honest, I've not really failed in determining that, so when I message the user, I can suggest that perhaps the name / date / spouse / source / event / whatever should be associated with user Yada Yada, ID xxx-xxx instead. I almost always offer to fix it for them, and in one case where the identity of someone born 100 years earlier had been imposed upon one of my ancestors, I added "If I don't hear from you in a couple of days, I will go ahead fix it for you. Let me know if you have any questions." I've never had a snippy response to a message like that. I also choose my battles. Not every detail is worth losing sleep over. I've seen duplicate children that I've just shrugged my shoulders at. I will often put comments in a detail I believe is wrong rather than correct it outright ESPECIALLY if it is a standard location thing. Finally, I avoid messes. I have a family who lived in a small town for 3 generations of large families. Each generation had a Gabriel, and most sons not named Gabriel named one of theirs Gabriel. I'm not even remotely curious about how many mistakes have been made. Good luck!

I've not been on here in a little while. It SaDly Does Not Interest me anymore..Every time I have come to my page in the last Year Plus, I "Wade" through all the "features" that are laughable, at Best, and do nothing..Attempt to find any record and those are always the ones that just don't exist.. It reminds me of a Second Grade Food fight,..and is Equally nauseating. I don't Get what this Site Is even Here for...

@MlaO'neal I'm sorry you have been soured to the system, but to get the most out of it you have to embrace that this is a collaborative environment. When you see changes you question, message the person who made the change and then correct it yourself. I made a change this morning that could have several people up in arms. I changed a birth date and birth location that is found in Find a Grave and numerous obits. They are all wrong! The birth certificate just popped up, and guess what? New information. It also showed there was a twin born, and it turns out that twin lived only for 3 months. I found her birth and death certificate, so I created that new person which was unknown before. I messaged everyone that had contributed information to the twin who lived of what I did and why. It doesn't have to be a food fight!
