Help Needed - Birth cert./Passport - Maria Trindade da Matta - Ilha São Miguel, Azores
Hi all,
I reached a dead end after weeks trying to find information about my Great Grandmother Maria Trindade da Matta (maiden name) in Azores. I am looking for any additional information about her, like birth certificate or passport. All I know is:
- Place of Birth: Ilha São Miguel, Azores, Portugal
- Birth: about 1879
- Immigration: Around 1895 , in a steam ship from Portugal to Brazil, probably Rio de Janeiro's port, according family reports.
- Married 1897 in Santana do Deserto, Minas Gerais, Brasil
- Death: 24 OCT 1942, São Manuel (now Eugenópolis), Minas Gerais, Brasil
- Parents: Herculano da Matta and Mariana da Conceição . They probably went with her to Brasil.
You can find her family search entry in this link, with attached sources I found.
I tried to find records in some immigration websites in Brazil (SIAN, APM, Museu da Imigração de SP) but I didn't suceed. Also couldn't find any information in tombo.pt and in Registos Paroquiais dos Azores (http://www.culturacores.azores.gov.pt/ig/registos/), although I think it is possible that there are something there.
Any help or tips in this research will be immensely appreciated.
Many thanks!
