Viewing secondary relationship to someone.
Before I added my father's grandfather to my family tree I viewed my relationship with him and it showed that I was related to him in the 1600s through my mother's side of the family. Now that I added him it only showed my relationship to him as my great grandfather. How can I see my secondary relationship to him form the 1600's?

FS's View My Relationship only shows the shortest path (closest relationship). I think you can look at all of the ways you are related to someone using an app from BYU, but I'm blanking on what it's called. @Brett . has posted about it fairly regularly; hopefully he can chime in.

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Please be aware ...
"Relationships", be they either, "Couple"; and/or, "Parent-Child", in general, can be quite complex; especially, when there are, (1) more than one "Couple" Relationship; and/or, (2) the other 'Types' of "Parent-Child "Relationships", being, "Adopted"; "Step"; "Foster"; and, "Guardianship", involved.
I think that 'FamilySearch' just takes ... 'the line of least resistance' ...
I have certainly found some "Relationships" can have MORE than ONE type/form of result ...
And, the various "Programmes", can each give their own, DIFFERENT interpretations of such ...
I have even come across cases; where, 'FamilySearch', in "View My Relationship", shows/displays one 'Type'/'Form' of "Relationship"; and, yet, (BYU) "RelativeFinder", that is a "Third Party" Application, that is "Certified" to work with the "Data", from "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', shows/displays ANOTHER (Different) 'Type'/'Form' of "Relationship", when there is (1) more than one "Couple" Relationship; and/or, (2) the other 'Types' of "Parent-Child "Relationships", being, "Adopted"; "Step"; "Foster"; and, "Guardianship", involved.
I never get too concerned about such ...
IF, I can follow a line/link, in my "Ancestral" Lines; and, such exists; THEN, I a happy with that ...
I care not what such is technically 'called' ...
Plus ...
"Relationships" actually, literally, often "Change", when ANOTHER User/Patron, makes "Changes", to those individuals/persons, in one's "Ancestral" Lines - it happens, often.
Just a thought ...
As an aside ...
IF, you have not already; THEN, ...
IF, one's "Ancestral" Lines, are extensive enough, in "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch'; THEN, using (BYU) "RelativeFinder" is the go.
Can I humbly suggest that a place where you should be able to 'See' your "Relationship" NOT only with, "Famous People" (including: those from the "Mayflower"); and, many, "Others"; but, ALSO between, (1) yourself and a "Deceased" individual/person; and/or (2) two (x2) "Deceased" individuals/person; and/or, (3) yourself and a "Living" User/Patron; PLUS, you can ALSO "Print" the connections/links between you and them is through (BYU) "RelativeFinder" ...
And, it is simple, just a matter of "Signing In", with the credentials of your 'FamilySearch' Account; accepting the "Conditions"; and, the "Connection" between "FamilySearch' and (BYU) "RelativeFinder"; which, then becomes a "Partner" Account, that is "Connect" to 'FamilySearch.
(BYU) "RelativeFinder" digs (pun intended) a lot DEEPER in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', than 'FamilySearch' does.
(BYU) "RelativeFinder" is one of the "Third Party" Applications that "Certified" to work with "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
BYU = Brigham Young University, in Provo, Utah, USA (ie. the Church University).
From the "Family History Technology Laboratory", of the "Computer Science" Department.

"RelativeFinder" has MANY 'Bells and Whistles', that you might find useful.
Apart from "Famous People" and "Others" ...
(BYU) "RelativeFinder" has some interesting options ...
There is an option to see if there is a 'Connection' between yourself and a "Deceased" individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
There is an option to see if there is a 'Connection' between two (x2) "Deceased" individuals/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
There is an option to see if there is a 'Connection' between ("Living" - Users/Patrons) Friends in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
And ...

Magic.
Enjoy.
Good Luck.
I hope, that this may help/assist, somewhat.

ps: Caveat - Please be aware, that NOT "All" Users/Patrons, may have success; but, hopefully, many will.
