Tax Records Boston 1870's. Do I list a single last name or leave it off if it doesn't have a first name with it? Thanks

I would index the last names that don't have given names. I think the project instructions say to index every unique name. Not having a given name attached, makes it a unique surname.

    Jones

    Jones, Tom

    Jones, Tom S

    Jones, Thomas

    (are all unique names)

Please index the given field as blank when there is no name given. <control>b
