Hi! It's the first time I contact the FamilySearch Community.

Would it be possible for someone who speaks dutch to translate or write in dutch what the document says?

I am looking for any names, dates, family realtives, places, ages, profession, etc...shown on this document:

This is a civil marriage record, dated 27 January 1829, in the municipality Elsegem.

groom: Dionisius De Waele, occupation "wever", living and born in this municipality, 28, son of the now living Emanuel de Waele, "landman", 59, living in this municipality and Marie Joanne ??.

There is also information about the documentation- birth certificates and conscription records- that he had to submit before getting a legal marriage.

I'll translate the bride later when I have time. The writing is small and the image quality is not excellent.

If you're trying to trace this family back another generation, the next step is to find Dionisius' birth. Civil registration in Belgium began in 1796, and he was born c.1801.

I apologise for the incorrect translation of Dionisius' birthdate as recorded on his 1829 marriage, it is indeed 28 Vendemiaire of the 5th Year of the French Republic, which you convert to the standard Georgian Calender using an online calculator.

Birth certificate of Dionisius:

Emmanuel De Waele, wever, is 26. The two witnesses were Jacobus De Waele, koopman, 80 and Jeanne Therese Platteau, 66. Emmanuel's wife and the mother of Dionisius is Marie Joanna Larue.

1771 Baptism (word-for-word):

Emmanuel [underlined]

21 March 1771 I baptized Emmanuel, son of Joannes de Waele and Maria Joanna de Meulemeester, [his] wife. Born yesterday at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Witnesses Arnoldus de Waele and Joanna Theresia de Waele.

Don't worry abour the bride details, if you just manage to get her date and place of birth that would be wonderful.

I still have a big doubt about Marie Joanne Larue, I am not sure if she is Emanuel' s wife or Emanuel's mother. I just start to understand a few words in ducth but sometimes it is really hard to understand exactelly what it says.

In Dionisius Birth certificate https://www.familysearch.org/records/images/image-details?page=1&place=420629&rmsId=TH-266-11755-95761-50&imageIndex=226&singleView=tru, I have all those names but I cannot confirm who is who:

Jacobus DE WAELE (Emmanuel's father?), Joanne Thérèse PLATTEAU (Emmanuel's mother?), Joannes Baptiste DE WAELE?, Marie Joanne LARUE?

On this birth certficiate the date is "achten twintigsten vendimaire vifjde jaar" which is supposed to correspond to 28 vendémiaire year 5 = 19th october 1796. If my translation is wrong please let me know.

It's getting even harder as I don't know who is who again: Joannis DE WAELE (his father?), Marie Joanne DEMEULEUMEESTER (his mother?), Arnoldus DE WAELE??, Joanna Theresia DE WAELE (the same person as on Dionisius's birth certificate?).

If someone can help that would be wonderfull, I've been stuck here for a while.

Do the witnesses on a birth/baptism certificate from the end of the 18th century use to be the grands parents of the child?

I'll try to find more information about Arnoldus and Joanna Theresia DE WAELE as I think they might be the parents of Joannes DE WAELE. So exciting!

Witnesses in Catholic baptism records are usually relatives. Uncles, Aunts and grandparents of the child are the most common relationships.
