Could someone clarify records that are to be indexed. I have done many tax records but now we are into population returns (which are not to be indexed per instructions) & assessment rolls. Are assessment rolls considered tax records and should they be indexed?

If this is the project you're referring to: Canada, Ontario—Tax Assessment Records, 1834–1899 [Part C]), then yes, assessment rolls are tax assessment records. If you look at the examples in the Project Instructions, it's shown to index assessment rolls.

It is always most helpful if you share the batch code of the image you are working on. The is the series of letters/numbers in brackets after the project title. [XXXX-XXX] This way others can see exactly was the assessment roll looks like.
