Recommended Tasks

On the opening page for Family Tree there is a section labeled “Recommended Tasks” that has a great many names. When the selection is made for Records then names have a blue icon. When that icon is selected it is possible to click “IGNORE”. When I have no knowledge about that person at all – that seems like a good choice. The problem is that the name ignore for this session of working appears to be gone. BUT the names marked “IGNORED” seem, to reappear again, and again!! 

Is there any way to remove them from the list permanently??

@Alice Colby Volkert . You assessment of Recommended tasks is well said. However we are not sure where you are finding the option to "ignore" . You can declare the Record Hint as not a match,

This, unfortunately, does not guarente that it will not reappear on your recommended Tasks list, as Record Hints may be presented by different sources. And, (again unfortunately) sometimes it takes a while for the system to catch up to the changes of some features.

When you declare a Record Hint as Not a Match, it changes the algorithm the "found" the possible match in in the first place. Which can have an impact on your receiving the same type of record hints for that same person.

I agree with your frustration about the Recommended Task list "ignore", on the Home Page, that does not allow it to be permanently removed from the list, but is just a short time removal. I guess it is there so you can move down the list more quickly in your current session.
