As a reviewer who would I ask if I feel there is an error in the batch?

Theres a batch I am reviewing on a birth index card, and it consists of 5 records, with about 17 names. All 4 records have date of death, and then crossed out death and written birth, and then there is one record which shows the birth index card but date of death column has not been changed to birth. It has been indexed as date of death. I feel that this is an error, because it is the same village and year of birth on previous records, so who would I go to ask to check this?

These batches I am doing is the Image Name008150942_00237Batch IDMSLT-XHV - Samoa - vital records 1846-1996. I found another batch with the same issue, records on birth index card heading but date of death crossed out and made to date of birth, and then other records no correction made, however these records are from the same village, and year of previous records that were indexed as birth.

I feel this could cause incorrect record of deaths or birth being created.

Hi @Tina-Marie Kaleopa Just hold on to the batch that you shared: MSLT-XHV

The other ones can be worked on and submitted. If they all have the same question, then just return them by clicking Batch, Return Batch. They will be Returned to the Review queue and you can get some others to work on. I'm not sure who the other "Community" mentioned above consists of, but, it may take a while to get an answer. Especially if they have to wait until Monday.

(Personally, I would mark them all as births and move on. The situation is much the same as when we don't know if it is a death date or a burial date we mark it as a burial, or a birth date or a baptism date, we mark them as baptism dates. We know that the first thing must happen for the next thing to occur; Be born to be baptized, die to be buried, or in this case, be born to die. In this case, I think it would make more sense to select the birth record as opposed to a death record. It will be interesting to see what the answer is!)

Hi Tina, these are good questions and I would ask that you hold this batch as I will post your questions in the Community. I will let you know as soon as an answer is received.

Thank you I have left the batches in my web indexing but now I cant do anymore reviewing. Is there another way to put batches on hold and continue with other batches.
