How can we go back to previous version of search?
Every search I have done to look up records for an ancestor, which I only have there name and approximate birth year and spouses name. It gives me results that are not even close to the information I am looking for.
The new version of search does not help you find records. The old version, you could look through the results and see if family members names matched.
Please go back to previous version, I know I am not the only one frustrated.

No really, there is no way to go back to 'old Search'. You have a few options here in Community (at least that I am aware of):
- Post your Search URL in your Community question and indicate what you are searching for -or just the general query parameters.
- Find an Idea - in the 'Suggest an Idea' category - that you support for changing the current Search functionality.
- There are options such as a VIrtual Consultation - https://go.oncehub.com/ResearchStrategySession where someone at FamilySearch can help you.
- Along the same lines you could Contact Support and chat/call in (depending on availability from your location) and get help.
Sorry for the sarcasm - but after weeks of people having problems with Search and just expressing general frustration without specific Search parameters - it does get old...
I hope these suggestions help you in your searching.

You may like to ADD, your thoughts/comments, in those particular posts; so that, your thoughts/comments, like those of MANY other UNHAPPY Users/Patrons, ARE 'seen', by the Team, in 'FamilySearch', that 'Designed'; and, 'Developed" the NEW look "Search".
As you can 'see' from those posts ...
DESPITE, all the NEGATIVE 'Feedback', with regard to the NEW "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records", from those that matter, the 'lowly' User/Patrons, where the NEW "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records", was 'foisted' upon them; BEFORE, being "Fully" released to ALL User/Patrons - 'FamilySearch' RELEASED the NEW "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records", to ALL Users/Patrons.
As I already suggested ...
You are not alone ...
We are ALL "Struggling"; and, NEED "Help", with the NEW "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records", which is NOT very 'User Friendly'.
MOST Users/Patrons want the NEW "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records" to be "Reverted" BACK to the PREVIOUS "Results" page/screen, for "Search Records".
But ...
That Said ...
SADLY, I doubt that will happen ...
I know that this DOES NOT help/assist; but, I hope that this gives you some, insight; and, perspective.

I can't seem to add a birth date to a search! Is this an improvement, or some administrator or accountant in their office (who never uses the system) saying we can't afford this method anymore? If it ain't BROKE, LEAVE IT ALONE!

just in passing ...
We NEVER could ADD, a FULL "Birth Date", in a "Search" ...
Even, in the OLD "Search" page/screen ...
We could ONLY ever ADD, a YEAR of "Birth Birth"; and, then, ONLY as a "Date Range" (ie. From/To) ...
NOTHING has "Changed" in that respect, with regard to the NEW "Search" page/screen ...
