The project instructions for this batch state,

"The date at the top of a roster or roll may be used for all entries as the enlistment date if the entries don't contain their own individual enlistment dates. When multiple dates are present on the image, please choose the military date based on the following hierarchy:

  1. Enlistment date
  2. Muster roll or monthly roster date
  3. Any other applicable military date"

With records such as:

"Gunn, George F R11168751 DS HGAD Honolulu TH since Apr 14/26",

would I mark April 14, 1926 (20th century being inferred from the rest of the info on the batch) as the project date? Or would I mark the monthly roster date, July 31, 1926, as the date?

You would use July 31 1926 because muster roll date is second choice and there is no enlistment date which is first choice on the date list. For that batch July 31 1926 will be the date for all of the names.

After you do a few batches you will see the difference in the types of images you get.

hope this helps have fun indexing
