Print three cards on one page, no matter where they are on the reservations list

If you have several pages of names for temple work, the computer will only print cards on one page for people's names if they are on the same page of your reservations list. This means that sometimes you get two people on one page and one person on another page, or even three names on three pages of paper, instead of them all being on one page. That is a terrible waste of paper

    @HazelHillier

    Hazel

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    [ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]

    Great suggested enhancement.

    But ...

    That Said ...

    It was disappointing, to say the least, when the "Continuous" List of "Reservations", for "Temple" Work, was REPLACED, by the "Paging" (ie. "Pages").

    The reason/inference; being, that the "Continuous" Lists, that for MANY Users/Patrons (who are Members of the Church), was Extremely LARGE (ie. "Thousands"), used far too much "System" Resources; thereby, "Slowing" the "System" down.

    Hence, why 'FamilySearch' went, from "Continuous" Lists, to "Paging" (ie. "Pages") Lists.

    Now ...

    That Said ...

    You are not alone ...

    Unfortunately ...

    What you request/desire is not a new request; and, had been requested COUNTLESS times, by COUNTLESS Users/Patrons (who are Members of the Church), that being, to enable the selecting (and, printing), of individuals/persons "Temple" Work across "Pages", in our List of "Reservations" for "Temple" Work.

    As such ...

    Due to the "Change", from "Continuous" Lists, to "Paging" (ie. "Pages") Lists ...

    I DO NOT think, that 'FamilySearch', will accede to such a request/suggested enhancement, on the grounds that; and, as they have ADDED, "Filters", to the "Reservations" Lists; where, it is/has been implied/suggested, that we SHOULD be able to "Sort" the individuals/persons that we require, by using those "Filters". to get the result they we desire.

    So ...

    That Said ...

    According to 'FamilySearch', it is SUPPOSEDLY, a very SIMPLE matter, of getting to know how to use, the "Filters", in the "Reservations" Lists, to achieve the desired result ...

    I will just leave that with you; and, say no more ...

    As I said, great suggested enhancement.

    We can but live in hope ...

    Just my thoughts.

    I certainly know that this certainly does not help/assist; but, I hope that this gives yo some, insight; and, perspective.

    @HazelHillier

    I miss the long list as well, but I have a FABULOUSLY easy solution!

    I will check a name, and possibly 2 or three from the same page if I'm lucky, and select the option to print cards. From that print card page that opens up, I will use the clipping tool (on a non Mac PC, sorry, I don't know what equivalent Mac uses, but I know they have one!) that looks like this:

    image.png

    You can download the program from the app store. When you click on that icon, a window opens up and you click "new" on that window. You can then select anything at all on your screen (or any of your screens if you use multiple as I do) and either copy that image you just selected or save it. I open up a Word Document, change the layout to Landscape and change the margins to Narrow, and I past the images of my temple cards in there, and I get FOUR on a page that way, so I use even less paper.

    I have really enjoyed using that option because I'm a teacher and I hate wasting paper, haha!

    I simply keep the word document titled "Temple Names To Print" on my desktop. I add to it whenever I need to and don't print out a page until I have 4 on a page, or until I must print them out because I'm ready to do them.

    That's my suggestion! It has streamlined my printing of temple cards and I hope it helps you deal with the finding one or 2 names on a page.

    Also, using the sorting feature can help a lot, but I find it doesn't for me because I have a lot of names that need the same ordinances, so I simply search by name and clip, copy, and paste that one name at a time.

    Sorry for the long-winded response, but I hope it helped even a little bit!

    Tricia
