I have found incorrect details on my family member shown in your Birth Registration Index listings.

Facts as follows :- Arthur Tattersall B.1971 Reg. Andover Hampshire England Refs. Vol 6b

    page 369

    The surname is incorrect .

    Shpuld read TATTERSDILL not TATTERSALL

I have obtained this info, from my Family History & other family history websites on the Internet.

Hope you are able to amend this problem A.S.A.P.

    Thank you

Geoff Booth, Brighouse W.Yorkshire , England

Geoff, this is a bulletin-board-type forum, not a chat interface.

Keep in mind that an index is not data. Indexes are merely finding aids for data.

Some fields of some indexes on FamilySearch can be corrected by any user of the website, like you or me. If the one you found is among them, there will be an "Edit" button available.

If there is no "Edit" button, then the index cannot be corrected, by anyone. You can console yourself with the fact that despite the error, the index served its purpose: you found the record.
