Family Search Reporting
I don't know if this has been suggested already or not, I didn't have time to review each of the 33k of them.
I am relatively new to FamilySearch and have recently been called to be a Family History consultant as well.
Two of the most useful features(for me) that I have found so far in FamilySearch are:
- finding matches(work already entered/duplicates) to existing records and
- finding out which of my ancestors needs temple ordinance work performed.
Currently it would appear that in order to get this information I need to visit each node in the family tree individually, then view the person information.
Wouldn't it be great if there were reports that could show me (say based on my FamilySearch ID, or any ID) all of the records in my family tree which appear to have matches(duplicates) with other records which should be merged and another which could show me all of the records in my family tree which qualify for needing temple ordinances performed?
I of course don't know the internals/design of the FamilySearch application, but as a career software developer, I would be wiling to offer to volunteer my time and services in producing such reports. That's how strongly I feel in the usefulness of these ideas in making the FamilySearch process more easy, effective, useful and enjoyable to use.
Thank you in advance for reading and considering these suggestions.
Regards,
Michael Twede
