Although my family tree records an unbroken line of descent for well over 15 generations, I am told that NO relationship to my ancestors can be found - not even to my father! I cannot see how I can correct this. Any guidance will be appreciated.

    Hello @Kenneth Milton

Have you checked to make sure that you are the starting or root person in Family Tree? If, for some reason you changed the starting person, then the relationship viewing will not work.

    • When you create a FamilySearch Account, you are the starting person in Family Tree by default. You appear as the first person in the Recents list. You cannot change the record of the starting person living to deceased.
    • You can change the starting person in Family Tree to someone other than yourself. You can also change the starting person back to yourself.
    • To change the starting person, you need that person's Family Tree ID.
    • You cannot delete the starting person in Family Tree.

Thanks to MNuttall and CHold, the problem has been solved! It occurred because I had an earlier duplicate as root person and this needed to be merged with a later family tree. Many thanks!
