Proper indexing
Please advise on the following ‘problem’, a person with the name: Hendrik van de Langenbergh in the original document.
Then is the following correct:
Given name: Hendrik
Surname: van de Langenbergh or Van de Langenbergh
Default FS changes the surname in Van De Langenberg but I can override this default. When sorting on surnames the name appears under the 'V' and NOT under the 'L'.
Secondly: a person has two given names but the first one is not readable, example
…und…en Maria Thijinck. Is it correct to index it as:
First name(s): ……. Maria
Last name: Thijinck
Hendrik Altena

The capitalization doesn't really matter and it is correct as you have stated. With a little work, you can convince the program to use the lower case v by entering the name, then go back and delete the V and change it to a lower case v.
When you can't read some letters of a name, we use wildcards. You can read more about this under General Indexing Guidelines by clicking on the link Unreadable Information. In a nutshell, the question mark is used for one unreadable letter and an asterisk is used for more than one letter. So in your example, Given Name: *und*en Maria would be indexed. Of it could be ?und?en (depending on what you are trying to convey with the ellipsis (...) ).
It is always best to share a batch code to get the most accurate answers. The batch code is the series of letters and numbers in brackets that follow the project title.

But then the next question: a year later the same name appears in another birth document and now the first name is good readable, it is 'Prudence'. Is it possible to correct the first entry?
(I don't keep track of all batch numbers....)

It is not possible to get a batch back once it is submitted. It it were on the same image or in the same batch and you had been able to decipher the handwriting, then of course you could correct the name. Also, you can look at the other handwriting on the image to compare letters and figure out words and names.
I should have suggested that you share the batch. Sometimes two sets of eyes on handwriting can help since sometimes we see things differently. To share a batch, always include the batch code with your questions.
The good news is that with the search engine using Soundex, a researcher should be able to find the name if you get it close but not perfect. Then they can usually correct the name with the new editing tools.
