Selecting all the cards/people that you need to print at one time

I used to be able to search a name and check the box for printing, do another search and check that box for printing. Now, if the names aren't on the same page, they clear the last checked box and only have the currently marked box. If I get 10 initiatories done and need to print out the 10 cards for the Endowment, I have to try to find all the names that are on one page to try to print 3 cards on a page. I often have to print out just one card because no one else is on the same page that I need. This is wasteful and more costly. I accepted that we wouldn't be getting our cards back and made the best of it. The engineers/programmers broke something that used to work fine. They obviously don't do genealogy and manage many pages of ancestors. If they did, they would find it cumbersome and do something about it. A possible solution would be to be able to check the boxes in the completed list and have it able to print the temple cards there. All the names I need to print for the next ordinance are right there and that would be slick. As it is now, when you check the box in the Completed list, you print a report of the ordinance that was done. I'm not sure who needs it to do that.

Please fix this problem or go back to giving us our cards back. I have over 400 names in my list and I'm not the only person that has many pages of names.

I'd be happy to talk to a programmer to show them the issue.

I hear you. The first time I print a card I print TWO copies. One copy is for my own records. I write in the date and temple the work was done and then file it when completed completely. I am always having to print off more copies as the work gets done. Sometimes 4 sheets of paper for one person! Who needs that, oh wait, I'm made of money and I have copious amounts of time to do it. Today while going through my 198+ names I needed to print two names for Initiatories. Fortunately for me the two names were on the same page or I would have had to go through the process twice of printing the names off as once you go to the next page the clicked name becomes unclicked. Once printed I see that the fields for Endowment and Sealing to Parents is blocked out. That means I need to schedule THREE appointments to get the work done because after doing the Initiatory I need to go home and print a card for Endowment, then go home and print a card for Sealing to Parent. That's worst case scenario. I can make all appointments (if I'm lucky and sessions are not full) and do the Initiatory then do the Endowment and then SP. BUT how do I get cards to do the Endowment and SP!?!

This new system doesn't make any sense at all except to a programmer that doesn't do family research or any temple work.

P.S. Changing the color of the paper to white wasn't the best move either. Last week the sealer tried to seal a son to his parents with a female proxy. He thought he had a female card. Only when I stopped him did he realize his mistake. It's happened before, too.

    [ Belatedly ... sorry I missed your original posting ... ]

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    Great suggested enhancement.

    But ...

    That Said ...

It was disappointing, to say the least, when the "Continuous" List of "Reservations", for "Temple" Work, was REPLACED, by the "Paging" (ie. "Pages").

The reason/inference; being, that the "Continuous" Lists, that for MANY Users/Patrons (who are Members of the Church), was Extremely LARGE (ie. "Thousands"), used far too much "System" Resources; thereby, "Slowing" the "System" down.

Hence, why 'FamilySearch' went, from "Continuous" Lists, to "Paging" (ie. "Pages") Lists.

    Now ...

    That Said ...

    You are not alone ...

    Unfortunately ...

What you request/desire is not a new request; and, had been requested COUNTLESS times, by COUNTLESS Users/Patrons (who are Members of the Church), that being, to enable the selecting (and, printing), of individuals/persons "Temple" Work across "Pages", in our List of "Reservations" for "Temple" Work.

    As such ...

Due to the "Change", from "Continuous" Lists, to "Paging" (ie. "Pages") Lists ...

I DO NOT think, that 'FamilySearch', will accede to such a request/suggested enhancement, on the grounds that; and, as they have ADDED, "Filters", to the "Reservations" Lists; where, it is/has been implied/suggested, that we SHOULD be able to "Sort" the individuals/persons that we require, by using those "Filters". to get the result they we desire.

    So ...

    That Said ...

According to 'FamilySearch', it is SUPPOSEDLY, a very SIMPLE matter, of getting to know how to use, the "Filters", in the "Reservations" Lists, to achieve the desired result ...

I will just leave that with you; and, say no more ...

As I said, great suggested enhancement.

We can but live in hope ...

    Just my thoughts.

I certainly know that this certainly does not help/assist; but, I hope that this gives yo some, insight; and, perspective.

Hello Brett! Good to 'see' you! :)

They have fixed it! I can do a filter and change pages or not do a filter and change pages; it keeps my previously marked cards. Yay! Thank you so much, programmers, for fixing this. You really listen to us and understand our needs!

It also looks like this update has fixed the problem with the Perform Next filter. It used to not work at all on the Shared with Temple list. Now it functions there just like on our personal list, not perfect when it comes to sealings, but great with the other ordinances.

It appears that the concerns of many have been heeded ...

So MANY people are going to pleased ...

    This is a ... 'game changer' ...

Many, were having problems/issues, using the "Filters" ...

Just TOO complex, for many ...

[ And, the "Filters", needed, some 'tweaking' ... ]

    .

    'FamilySearch' ...

'THANK YOU'; 'Thank You'; 'thank you' ...

Keep up the great work ...

MAY THE LORD BLESS YOU IN THIS IMPORTANT WORK
