Indexing Error New York Passenger Lists

  1. The ship name FULDA is incorrect on many pages (they indexed the previous ship name of Dania for all of the FULDA ship names)
  2. DOB for at least the Krepcak family on Pg. 221 are incorrect, but the AGES ARE CORRECT,
  3. Date of immigration is also incorrect. It should read 8 Jul 1890 PLEASE CORRECT

(Ancestry was also contacted and they made some corrections still working on that)

    Thank you for your comments regarding this batch. Each batch is reviewed before publication and if there is a 20% error range, it is reviewed for the second time.

    This may not have been indexed via FamilySearch so they would not have been reviewed several times and FS may not be able to make any global corrections to the index. But, it is great that Ancestry is able to make some corrections. It is kind of unlikely that the same indexer or reviewer would have indexed/reviewed 14 images of a passenger list. The year of birth is probably a computer estimation since we don't index what is not on the image.
