Is there a problem with submitting this batch as is? United States—Enlisted and Officer Muster Rolls
M3ZF-8JP
I Have reviewed this batch and have made needed corrections and additions. The person who indexed the batch did not read the following two instructions:
- If a document has 2 columns, index the names in both columns from the top to the bottom beginning with the left column.
Do not include titles, terms, prefixes, or suffixes with the name.
The indexer indexed both columns simultaneously which apparently made it a bit difficult to follow, three names were skipped. I have added in the skipped names and made other corrections. including removing several Jr.
Other than the two issues above the indexer had done a fairly good job.
I have been told that the computer handles each entry separately. So the question is will it be a problem if this batch is submitted as is????
I do not know an easy way of adjusting the order.

The order does not matter in web-indexing. It only mattered when we had to do record matching in order to arbitrate between two indexers. Then we had to match the two indexes up to be able to compare the entries and that was very time consuming. (But alot of fun too!)
There is no easy way to change the order in web-indexing.

If you do not received an answer here from someone who can open your batch, you can also contact the FamilySearch chat line for help. Click the "?" symbol in the upper-left at the top of your screen. A small Help box will appear.Click on "Contact Us" at the bottom left. The Contact Support page will come up. Scroll down to the country information for where you reside. This lists hours (and phone numbers if you prefer). Click "chat" or call.
A chat session with one of the Sisters worked very well for me. Be sure to check the hours they are available and have your batch number handy.
