    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

[ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]

Further to what has already been proffered ...

Here is an article, that you may find helpful, from 'FamilySearch' "Wiki" (always a good place to look):

    Chinese Genealogical Word List

    https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Chinese_Genealogical_Word_List

    https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Chinese_Genealogical_Word_List

Which provides link to some other useful 'On-Line' websites/links:

    • Online Chinese Dictionary
    • Online Chinese Dictionary
    • Mandarin language overview
    • Chinese Transliteration information
    • Chinese Romanization converter ... [ This site can’t be reached ... www.chinesetools.eu refused to connect. ]
    • Chinese basics and grammar

    As an aside ...

    From another angle ...

IF, your Stake/District has a "Chinese" Ward/Branch; THEN, the "Temple and Family History, Consultants" of such a Ward/Branch, can be an invaluable source of help/assistance.

Our Stake has such a "Chinese" Ward/Branch, I have found the Members of that Ward/Branch, are more than willing to help/assist, in the "Translation" of Documents in "Chinese" Characters, where they can.

    Furthermore ...

Here is a 'Group', in the "Groups" Section, for Chinese Research; as, referenced previously:

    "Groups" Section

    Description:

This is the place for people interested in Chinese genealogy, to ask and answer questions about Chinese genealogy and related topics, in both English and Chinese. 這是一個为全球华人提供的、每个人都可以用英文或中文詢問或者回答中文家譜相關問題的互助平台。

Many of the members, of "Groups", are only too willing, to provide help/assistance, where they can.

Please be aware, that you have to "Join" a 'Group', to post in a 'Group'.

And, as previously referenced, you can use 'Google' "Translate" (or, any such translation application) to post in the 'Groups', from English, to the Language of a particular 'Group' - and, of course, to translate any responses, if needs be.

Personally, I have found the likes of 'Google' "Translate", to be an absolute blessing, for use in the Forum.

    https://translate.google.com/

Although, there are other such translation applications, that I have used - that is one, I find the easiest to use.

I hope this also helps, somewhat.

    Good Luck.

    Brett

In regards to you questions concerning translating Chinese name to English, you may want to access the Chinese genealogical group connected to Community. Just click on Group in the left column, then do a search of Chinese, and that group will come up.

@DouglasFisher1 Regarding your desire to translate a Chinese name into English, you may want to try using Google Translate if you are using Google Chrome user.

On the Google home page, click on the application icon to the left of your name in th upper right hand corner of the screen. Scroll down to Translate and click on it. Cut and paste the Chinese name from the document that you have and enter it on the left side and locate the Chinese language. On the right side select Engish.

You may also searching for other on-line software that will do the job.

You may also consider posting in the Community as suggested above.
