Why does my entry in family search say I was born in England?
My name is Richard Edward Anderson. I was born Richard Edward Rasmussen and my name changed with my adoption. My ID number in Family Search is KWCM-DSL. My current Family Search entry in my family tree says I was born in England, UK. This is wrong. I was born in Salt Lake City, UT, part of the United States. as far as I know. Why is my birthplace reported incorrectly and how do I change it?

@Richard Edward Anderson , Since you are Living, the PID KWCM-DSL is only visible to you. That means that you put in that birth place or if you are a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that birth place came from your membership record. Now if that’s the case, you should verify that information with your Ward clerk to correct your membership record too. Changing your Living PID will not change your membership information.
Your statement re your birth place, “as far as I know” makes me think you may want to pursue documents to verify which birth place is really correct.
