Under the old search system i could nter parential details i was able to then able to find possible results. Now i cant see a way of doing this is it still possible. Also anyway of finding the old search fields Thanks Robin
This is difficult to illustrate with a screenshot, as the detail can no longer be viewed without scrolling way down the page (and off the screen). However, if you view the page below, this will give an example of how to do what you believe is no longer possible. Remember to scroll down, though - or you won't see the full input detail in the example provided.
(The page illustrates the results of a search for "Thomas" children baptised in Yorkshire in the 1730-1758 period, with a father named David.)
As the mother's name is often not shown for the time period shown in the example, you will find I have searched just on the father's (first) name. However, be aware that there are instances when only the first name of the child(ren) has been indexed, in which case it is advisable to carry out a further search with the Last Name against the father (i.e. as "David Thomas") and the name in the top section left blank.
Thanks Paul that solves the problem I also found that using the old Archer software batch listing, as long as know the parish i can achieve a result. But again many thanks for your help.
