No Group Administrator for a Ward/Unable to See Indexing Reports
I have a ward in my stake who does not have a Group Administrator listed. Who is normally assigned as the Group Admin for a ward? I am the Stake Consultant and can add Group Administrators to the stake, but cannot see any way to make someone in her ward a Group Admin. I can get into their ward, but do not have any option to make edits like I can in my own ward and stake. How do we get someone in the ward assigned as the Group Administrator?
The ward wants to see their Indexing Reports and we are not sure if is because the person I am working with is not the Group Admin or they would be able to see them. The Family History Consultant I am working with does not have the Reports button when she logs in.
The KA "I have a calling that should let me see indexing reports, but I cannot see them" says that Temple and Family history consultants should have access to the ward indexing reports. We checked her account settings as the KA directs, and it does list her as a Temple and FH consultant so she should be able to see them. There is a note in the KA about a bug - not sure how long that has been there. Is there any word on when that will be fixed if that is why she cannot see the Reports button?

Help Center agrees - only Stake/Ward Clerk can assign these:

First check to see if the Consultants are listed by visiting: https://www.familysearch.org/help/helper/planner/workwith
If the Consultants are listed there, there is also the Stake tab which should list the Stake Consultants (that might be able to assign the Admin rights).
I am a little unsure of who assigns those rights but would guess it could be done through the Stake/Ward Clerk.
As a Ward FHC I am able to view Reports. They recently changed to view only group activity versus individual. It appears - at least from my experience - that any Ward FHC is a 'group admin' that can see these reports. Just fiddling around right now - it looks like as a Ward FHC 'group admin' I can also add 'group admin' rights to others - it appears at least. I am seeing some other Roles listed - what is the Linking role - anyone?
I hope this helps somewhat.

If you are able to get into "Leader and Clerk Resources" for the Ward, go into "Organizations", "Temple & Family History", It should show you who is called to be the "Ward Temple & Family History Leader". I agree with what genthusiast said. In order to see "Reports" they have to have the "Admin" Rights. If you are able to get into the admin rights, you should be able to asssign those right to the person you are woring with.
I am also a FHC and also an Indexing Team Leader.

I can get into Admin Rights in the stake as the Stake Temple and FH Consultant, and can make changes to add or delete Stake Group Admins, but cannot make changes in a ward I do not reside in (I am also the group admin for my ward and can make changes there also). The member that is asking has verified in her settings at churchofjesuschrist.org that she is set up as a Ward Temple and Family History Consultant (as instructed in the KA). I can see that she is listed as such in the Ward Directory for her ward also. I am not able to get into the Leader and Clerk Resources for the ward, but it appears that she is set up correctly. There is currently no Ward Temple and Family History Lead in that ward - he moved out a few months ago and they have not replaced him. He is no longer listed as a consultant or lead for the ward or as a Group Admin in the ward group. So, I still have my two original questions:
- How do we get a GROUP ADMIN assigned to the ward?
- How does my contact, a family history consultant, get herself access to the reports for her ward?

Thank you. Talked with the Ward Clerk who tells me the Stake Clerk needs to create the position in order for him to put someone in it. None of the other wards in the stake have a Group Administrator except my ward - which is me. Not sure we need it because another ward consultant in the individual's ward does have the Reports button and we may need to do some clearing of cookies to help the other individual have the Reports button. I think I'm good, thank you for your help!

Just so you know, there are only two indexing reports you can get now -- total names indexed and the roster of people in the unit who are _signed up_ to index. There is no more listing of individual indexing numbers or the projects they are working on.
You seldom need these reports. The roster of people changes only very slowly. You can see the total indexing by looking the the top of the page for the group you are looking at.

If your ward or branch indexing group does not have an administrator listed, this is what you can do to fix that: have your bishop or branch president call a "Ward Temple And Family History Leader". ! The new leader will automatically become an administrator for the unit indexing group. Then they can appoint other administrators, as needed. This recently worked fine for our unit.
