Ohio Probate Record
I was at the Family History Library over a week ago and found an Index for the will of my great-great grandmother Elizabeth Skinner. I asked a worker in the Library how I could find the actual will, since we could not find a database online that connected to the information in the index. She told me I would need to go to the Ohio Wiki page and contact the appropriate government office. But there is NO contacts listed on the Ohio Wiki page. I cannot figure out how to find this will and no one with Family Search seems to know either.
Is there anyone out there who can help me?

I am not connected with FamilySearch
I see Fayette is mentioned in the description. It seems as though the original archive is the Fayette County (Ohio) Probate Court.
However there are some records on FamilySearch which may be relevant. Example Ohio, Fayette County, will records, 1868-1945. https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/3581366 .
These records are viewable on your home computer. If you search the Catalog you may find further records. You could also Search Images to see what is there.

The suggestion to search the Ohio Wiki page is a good one. From FamilySearch.org click on Search Research Wiki and enter Ohio in the search bar. On the far right column below the state flag are links to Record Types and Probate Records is on that list. follow those links to the Ohio Probate Records wiki page which give instructions in how to research wills etc.

Thank you, Alan, for your suggesting. However, that Wiki page and listing just leads me back to the same records where I found the Index. I want to find the actual Will, not just the Index.
It does the same with Ancestry... take me to the Index, but not the actual will. I'm trying to find out where I can find the Will that is Indexed.
Thank you for trying to help!

Hi Maureen,
Your link was very helpful--I think. It lead me to records I had not found before. I'll call the Family History Library tomorrow and see what I can discover about the records at Iron Mountain. Perhaps they are in the process of digitizing them!
Thank you, thank you.

If you cannot locate the records on FamilySearch - perhaps contacting the Fayette County, Ohio archives would be fruitful:
It seems like they can take records questions via email: fayarchive@fayette-co-oh.com
I hope this helps.

Dear genthusiast,
THANK YOU!!! for the above information. I wrote to Fayette County and received a response today. I ended up phoning and discovered they not only have a copy of the will I am looking for Elizabeth Skinner, but discovered the will of one of her sisters and sale of land records! I am so very excited. I sent off a check (they don't accept credit cards) and am anxiously awaiting receipt of these records.
You truly helped me big time!!
