Un recognizable character

How do I record a year when the last character in the year has an unrecognizable character? 191X where X is the unrecognizable character and does not match any other number from the typewriter. It looks like there were duplicate character strokes from the typewriter and I cannot determine what the number should be from the image.

We can help you better if you also post the batch code of the project your question refers to.

There is a knowledge article that indicates how to index unreadable information.

If one letter or number is unreadable use the ? to replace, ie: 189? Or Mar?.

If more than one letter or number are unreadable you would use the * ie: 18*, or Ma*

Hope we have answered your question.
