I have a hint reappearing in research helps to review and attach something I have already reviewed and attached. What can I do about this?

Thanks.

    Hello @jonathangray1

Thank you for using the Community and asking this question. First go to the question mark with the circle around it in the top right corner of the page.

Then select "help center." Then type in key words "hints are duplicates." There will be several articles, but this is the one you should select: What do I do with duplicate record hints in Family Tree?

    Thank you!

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    Question(s):

Does the "Record Hint" (ie. "Source") have the EXACT Same URL, each time?

Before, doing anything, have you done a "Check", to confirm, that the "Source", is STIIL attached?

Could another User/Patron, have "Detached", the "Source" (ie. "Record Hint")?

    [ Such can often be done either, during; and/or, after, a "Merge"/"Combine" ... ]

Could the "Record Hint" (ie. "Source"), simply be, ANOTHER "Indexing", of the Same Event - it happens often.

[ It may NOT be a EXACT "Duplicate"; simply, another "Indexing", of the Same Event ... ]

    As an aside ...

Here is a "Knowledge Article", in 'FamilySearch':

What do I do with duplicate record hints in Family Tree?

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/what-do-i-do-with-duplicate-record-hints-in-family-tree

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/what-do-i-do-with-duplicate-record-hints-in-family-tree

Where it states, among other things:

    Quote

    ------------------

What to do about duplicate record hints

Look at the URL of each record hint. Each one should have a different URL.

    • If the apparent duplicate has a unique URL and is about the person, review it and attach as usual. Be aware that when you dismiss apparent duplicates, it can prevent the hinting system from finding record hints for the person in the future.

    ------------------

I hope this also helps, somewhat.

    Brett
