My maiden name is Bench. Whenever I do a search I get the judges bench or the Wasatch Front Bench. How can I show it is a surname?
If you are talking about searches on the FamilySearch website, see my test search at https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results?exactSearching=true&q.anyDate.from=1890&q.anyDate.to=1900&q.anyPlace=utah&q.anyPlace.exact=on&q.givenName=john&q.givenName.exact=on&q.surname=bench&q.surname.exact=on.
Here is an extract from the page produced in looking for a John Bench at Utah in the 1890-1900 period:

I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
I am somewhat confused, with your post, I do not quite understand ...
Question: Where exactly are you "Searching"?
▬ In the "Search" Records, in 'FamilySearch'; or,
▬ In the "Find" (ie. an individual/person), in "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch'; or,
▬ Somewhere else
Can you please advise.
I just did a "Search" in BOTH, the "Search" Records, in 'FamilySearch'; and, the "Find" (ie. an individual/person), in "Family Tree", of 'FamilySearch', getting results in BOTH, nothing like you describe.
