Format change!
This site has now been updated with a new format and it's terrible!
I have been nothing but frustrated trying to use it.
It was perfect before why oh why mess with a good thing?
I have seen others struggling to understand why the site has now been crippled ! I don't want to use it anymore and I used it consistently and was grateful it existed! I am beyond upset .

We can understand your frustration with trying to learn another change made to the FamilySearch program. Change is hard! Technology is always changing, and so must the programs to keep current.
It would be helpful to know specifically what change is giving you trouble, so we can try to help clarify the situation. Please clarify where you are working, what you are wanting to do, and what part of the program is problematic.
We are here to assist.

You can also clarify specific areas of concern in the Feedback link at the bottom of any FamilySearch page. We do want you to be happy. As I use the changed features a while, I usually am able to find the value in them. I certainly agree that it can be frustrating during that learning period.

Here is a specific complaint about the recent changes to the Chromebook formatting. When you are in the person page and you want to see vital statistics about someone else in the page (a parent for example), it used to be that you could single click on that person and a little card would pop up showing you their birth and death dates and places and the ordinance work). That has been changed. Now when you single click on a person, it takes you to a new page that shows the name of the person whose page you had been on but the information of the person whose name you clicked on. That is very confusing. Another similar change is this: When I am in the tree (descendancy) and I single click on a person to look at the card, it does the same thing, navigating me away from the tree. This is not only confusing, but very inconvenient because you can't back arrow back to where you were in the tree. It refreshes the tree page every time you navigate away from the tree. This is a problem because, if I am doing descendant research, I may have worked my way down from the original ancestor for several generations and it is time consuming to find my way back. Thanks for your help.

The problem with the person card is back and it makes things very difficult. When the person card is working properly, I can hover over the person's name and see their date and place of birth and death as well as completed ordinances without changing the page. Now I have to click on it and it takes me to a card that gives that information, but doesn't have their name at the top of the page, it has the name of the person's page that I accessed it from. And then, if I hit the back arrow it doesn't take me back where I was. This isn't a problem on the computers at the family history center or my desktop, just my chromebook. I hope you can fix this. I like being able to sit and do family history research on the couch while the family is watching tv, not just at the desk.

Actually, as I said in my first complaint, you had to single click, not hover, to see the person card in the previous (working) version on the chromebook.

I am not sure how chromebook works. Have you tried deleting cookies and temporary files, to see if that corrects the issue? Sometimes in makes the website work more efficently.
Or have you tried a different browser?

We hope this helps.
